While training for the half marathon, Mark “Hawkeye” Louis, broke his ankle and was unable to compete as the 2012 Last Man Running. Although he was disappointed not to run for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Hawkeye recruited a fast friend to take his place.

Craig “Junior” Miller, half of the award-winning duo from The Ticket’s “Dunham and Miller Show”, ran his 11th half marathon as the 2012 Last Man Running.

On December 9th, Miller was the very last person to start the race and for every person he passed, Cotton Patch Café donated money to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC).  As the title sponsor, Cotton Patch Café, the local casual dining chain, pledged to donate $4 for every runner Miller passed!

With a goal time of 1:35, Miller hoped to pass a lot of runners and raise additional money for TSRHC. On race day, he was able to pass 9,000 runners, and for that Cotton Patch Café gave a generous donation of $36,000! Thank you to everyone who made a contribution in honor of Miller’s efforts and to help match Cotton Patch Café’s $36,000 gift!
